From Tarbet, Loch Lommond follow the A83 West to Arrochar, Ardgarten, Glen Croe, Rest and Be Thankful.
Two road options from here - The main A83 / A815 or a scenic valley route B828 then along Hell's Glen the B839 both bring you towards St Catherine's popular again for fishing.
At Strachur follow the A815 south where there are numerous picnic sites and viewpoints across Loch Eck.
Dunoon to the south has all the facilities of a small town including leisure centre and a River Clyde ferry that could be used to create a 1 day loop back into the Glasgow area.
